Who is Chloe Sarwie?

Chloe Sarwie is one of the most exciting prospects out of the Chelsea academy.

Sarwie is just 16-years-old and still hasn’t signed her first professional contract with the Blues, but that seems to be just around the corner.

The teenager was handed her debut for Chelsea’s first team on Wednesday in the Champions League no less.

Sarwie’s debut was marred by Chelsea drawing in their Champions League opener. The draw meant Chelsea dropped points in back to back games for the first time since 2024.

Despite the result, Sarwie impressed in her 20 minutes on the pitch as she came on for Chelsea’s goalscorer Sandy Baltimore.

The teenager plays on the left side of defence but always look keen to get up the field – something that Sonia Bompastor put her trust in as Chelsea looked to win in Twente this week.

Chloe Sarwie could make history with pro contract

Although she is still yet to sign her first professional contract with any team, the faith shown by Chelsea to play Sarwie in the Champions League shows that a deal could be on the horizon.

Should she sign a professional contract with the Blues before December, Sarwie would make history for Chelsea women.

The youngest player to ever sign a pro contract with the London club is Lola Brown. Brown was just 17-years-old when she signed for Chelsea in November last year.

If Sarwie is to be rewarded this season then she would become the youngest player to ever sign for Chelsea.

What next for Chloe Sarwie?

Wednesday’s game was the first time Sarwie has been included in Chelsea’s matchday squad this season.

It is unlikely that the teenager will be heavily involved with first team action in the coming months, but she is expected to gain some valuable experience as her 17th birthday approaches.

Chelsea face off with Tottenham this weekend as they look to end their winless streak and Sarwie could be included after a strong start in the Champions League.

The youngster has also been involved with England’s youth setup playing for both the under-19’s and under-17’s already.
