As the summer transfer window approaches, the Rumour Mill is beginning to ramp up — and Dario Osorio is the latest name linked with Everton.

According to Give Me Sport’s Senior Football Correspondent, Ben Jacobs, the Blues are one of three Premier League clubs tracking the FC Midtjylland winger. Bournemouth and Crystal Palace — two clubs widely admired for their recent recruitment success — are also understood to be monitoring the Chile international.

Now into his fourth season at FC Midtjylland, Osorio is one of several highly-rated young talents attracting attention from Premier League scouts.

The Danish side have built a strong reputation for player development over the last decade or so, helping launch the careers of names such as Simon Kjær, Joachim Andersen and Alexander Sørloth.

Osorio joined Midtjylland from Universidad de Chile as a teenager and has since surpassed 100 senior appearances.

Despite the recent redundancy of Scandinavian scout Ola Nielsen, the winger is believed to remain firmly on Everton’s recruitment radar alongside teammates Franculino and Senegalese defender Ousmane Diao.

Though still only 22 years old, Osorio has already earned 23 caps for Chile, scoring twice at senior level.

Chile’s failure to qualify for this summer’s World Cup could potentially aid any transfer pursuit, with the winger available for a full pre-season should a move materialise.

A tall, rangy right-winger who prefers to cut inside onto his stronger left foot, Osorio has stylistically been compared to a young Ángel Di María.

Whether attempting cross-field switches or unleashing shots from distance, his natural instinct is to drift infield and influence attacks centrally.

Dario Osorio Stats: Why Premier League Clubs Are Interested

In the 2025-26 Danish Superliga season, Osorio averaged 3.41 shots per game and 1.28 shots on target per match — both figures placing him among the top 1% of wide players in the division.

His 72.4% long-ball accuracy also ranked him in the top 6% among positional peers, highlighting his ability to progress attacks quickly and switch play effectively.

Osorio has registered six goals and six assists in league action, while only two players in the division boast better assists-per-90 numbers.

However, it is arguably his ball-carrying ability and work rate that have generated the most admiration from English scouts.

Europa League Form Shows Dario Osario’s Potential

Osorio ranks in the top 5% of Danish Superliga wingers for:

The obvious caveat is the significant jump between Danish football and the Premier League. Very few would expect those numbers to translate immediately.

Encouragingly for interested clubs, Osorio also impressed in the Europa League. He ranked among the top 10% of wingers for assists, successful dribbles, and fouls won, while placing in the top 20% for:

  • Touches in the opposition box
  • Big chances created
  • Duels won

Midtjylland themselves enjoyed an impressive European campaign, finishing behind only Lyon and Aston Villa in the league phase while recording victories over Nottingham Forest and Celtic. The Danes eventually exited on penalties in a rematch against Forest in the Round of 16.

Could Osorio be a smart signing for Everton?

Modern football recruitment is more data-driven than ever, and it is easy to understand the appeal of Osorio despite the obvious risks attached to any player stepping up from the Danish Superliga.

Everton are still expected to prioritise Premier League-ready additions this summer, with Harry Wilson viewed as one obvious right-wing option following initial January interest.

However, with strong competition expected for the Fulham winger and a rumoured price tag of €20M (£17.4M) for Osorio, the latter could represent a younger alternative with significant long-term upside.

"A tall, rangy right-winger who prefers to cut inside onto his stronger left foot," Don't we have one of them named Dibbling?

"with the winger available for a full pre-season should a move materialise." not with us, we only do deadline day signings

Gavin Johnson 3 Posted 16/05/2026 at 13:57:41

If I was a young player with no Premier League experience, I'd be pretty wary of joining Everton under Moyes.

Mark Murphy 4 Posted 16/05/2026 at 15:40:49

I've said this since we signed Dibling, Barry and Aznou -- we're building for a post-Moyes Everton.

No way Moyes is behind those signings -- no matter what he says about his role.

Alan J Thompson 5 Posted 16/05/2026 at 15:43:53

As we don't seem to have efficient overlapping full-backs, it would appear we'll play two wingers on either wing and possibly have one or more left over for the 70th minute sub...

Before you know it, we'll sign somebody to cross to... although it may just be the hallmarks of a space on the bench as a goalie departs.

So, if all goes through, we could have Ndiaye, Dibling, George, Grealish and McNeil unless the last three will be sold or not signed. Did I miss anyone or is this the "Committee's" idea of a squad?

Mike Gaynes 6 Posted 16/05/2026 at 18:10:45

Well, Gavin and Steve, looks like we will find out, because Kinnear has just settled the issue of whether Moyes will be back next season."Whilst the media and other fanbases clamour for frequent managerial change, we value the stability that David brings and the ability this gives the whole Club to plan for the long term."

Eric #2, Osorio is 22 and a full international, World Cup qualifiers and all, and a Europe veteran as well. Dibling is none of those. Not much point to that comparison.

David West 8 Posted 16/05/2026 at 18:15:29

Can't we have a winger or 2 with a right foot on the right and a left foot on the left, putting crosses in?? v

Brendan McLaughlin 9 Posted 16/05/2026 at 18:30:49

Apparently Angus also reckons Everton fans can be "happily dissatisfied" with this season.

That's gonna go down well on ToffeeWeb.

John Williams 10 Posted 16/05/2026 at 18:55:51

David 8,

Just look at Man City wingers who play on the wrong wing. It's successful.

Jay Harris 11 Posted 16/05/2026 at 19:45:24

We just need some players with pace and goalscoring ability.

Surely we can manage that.

Ian Bennett 12 Posted 16/05/2026 at 20:26:09

They were talking about Doku being the scorer of great goals, and if he wants more, then he needs to look for far-post tap-ins, like Sterling did at Man City.\

Illy is probably similar.

Edward Rogers 13 Posted 16/05/2026 at 20:53:52

David @8,

Crosses to who?

Rob Hooton 14 Posted 16/05/2026 at 23:54:23

David, 8: no, apparently not, this would be too simplistic for the ‘modern game' (or some other shite).

'Happily dissatisfied' seems an appropriate phrase, given the feedback from various club factions. It was always going to be a transitional season given the huge change of personnel last Summer and it's kind of comforting to be so safe; however, many of us will feel we have underachieved with the players at our disposal and the opportunities missed that a little more bravery and positivity could have brought.

We'll never know, until we have a new man at the helm -- like others, I think we are potentially missing out on some of the best managerial prospects out there this summer (in Iraola and Glasner) and may rue the safety-first approach in the long term.

Eric Myles 15 Posted 17/05/2026 at 02:15:23

Mike #6, I take your point. Mine was meant to be more like David's#8.

So we say goodbye to Dibling then as we won't need two wrong-footed players on the same wing. Maybe Saints will get back to the Premier League and we can sell him back for £60M.

Mike Gaynes 16 Posted 17/05/2026 at 03:00:56

Eric #15,

I'd say that, if we make it into the Conference League and/or make a Cup run, we will definitely need two quality players at every position. It's pretty clear that lack of depth has shot us in the foot this season.

Steve Brown 17 Posted 17/05/2026 at 05:00:59

Fantastic, Mike, another season of snail speed progression (“stabilty”) from the master of managing down expectation.

Put him a blazer, hand him a Glenmorangie, and get him to tour the lounges reminiscing about that season we finished fourth.

Back to wingers, it's also being reported that we are also interested in Loum Tchaouna from Burnley. We should send Dibling out on loan for the season rather than lose money in a sale.

Ajay Gopal 18 Posted 17/05/2026 at 05:38:10

Mike (6), saying that an international playing for Chile is somehow equivalent to wingers who play for England is ridiculous.

The English players - Gordon, Saka, Eze, etc, cost upwards of £80M. So, yeah, it makes perfect sense to compare Osorio and Dibling who has played for the England U-21s.

“Osorio is 22 and a full international, World Cup qualifiers and all, and a Europe veteran as well. Dibling is none of those.”

Mike, let me remind you that we already have one such player who has been rotting on the bench -- sorry, not even on the bench. So, why should Moyes be allowed to waste more money on a similar profile of player?

Ian Bennett 20 Posted 17/05/2026 at 08:05:06

Mike, let me remind you that we already have one such player who has been rotting on the bench -- sorry, not even on the bench. So, why should Moyes be allowed to waste more money on a similar profile of player?

Because he is the manager, Ajay. Not every player works out instantly or at all, but as long as the owners are happy with the manager's contribution, he will be free to buy as he chooses.

Darren Hind 21 Posted 17/05/2026 at 08:13:34

This would be a golden opportunity for Mr Brightside to take Dibling to one side and tell him that there will be a carnival atmosphere today.

"Go out and enjoy yourself. Show them and me what you've got!"

Chances of it happening?

Tony Abrahams 22 Posted 17/05/2026 at 08:47:16

Like the first league goal ever registered at our stadium, Ian.

It's plausible, Mark, but then when I look at a couple of posts before your own, I tend to think along the same lines...

Why would a young player want to sign for Everton right now?

Mark Ryan 23 Posted 17/05/2026 at 09:35:16

Headline reads who is Dario Osorio ? I'll tell you who he is, a player who is too good and too young to be signed by Everton, next

John Collins 24 Posted 17/05/2026 at 10:38:41

If I was a football agent representative of a good young player I would steer him away from signing for Moyes.

James Marshall 25 Posted 17/05/2026 at 10:49:20

From all the noise out of the club, especially Angus Wotshisname's comments this weekend, it looks like Moyes is going nowhere doesn't it?

This kid looks decent on Youtube, but then so did Omar Niasse.

Apparently the RS were looking at him a few years ago as well. For whatever that's worth. He's just going to be one in a long line of players hawked around the Internet so I wouldn't go wasting too much time & effort on writing long articles about players who get mentioned about signing for us.

Jack Convery 26 Posted 17/05/2026 at 11:15:17

More chance John Stones will arrive, medical kit in tow - WHY ?

There 2 lads are available on a free come July 1st.

Malang Sarr age 27, left footed CB for Lens. Fomer French U21 and rumoured to be a target for Athletico Madrid. Played every game last season, bar one.

Danilho Doekhi age 27, right footed CB for Union Berlin. Former Dutch U21 and rumoured to be of interest to Dortmund, Leeds and Feyonord. Played every game last season.

Both are of an age, when they will be coming into their best years as CBs. Their wages combined wil in my opinion be less then the wages, we'll cough up to bring Stones on board. Even if only one of them succeeds at EFC it must represent better value, than an injury prone player looking at one last good deal before retirement.

Ian Bennett 27 Posted 17/05/2026 at 11:32:42

Stones was being tipped up for Bayern, Chelsea or another European elite side on the radio yesterday by Lescott.

Let's see.

Bobby Mallon 28 Posted 17/05/2026 at 12:33:07

What's the point?

He is young so will be stuck on the bench.

Bob Parrington 29 Posted 17/05/2026 at 13:24:56

Why are we linked with wingers when we have sufficient on our squad? We need a class act RB - first off. We need a real striker. We have a good LB with a potentially great young LB in Aznou.

Why do we have to put up with this crap that we are constantly looking for wingers. Let's get real guys!
