Who is in the running to be the next Nottingham Forest manager?

Ange Postecoglou was ruthlessly sacked moments after Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

The former Spurs boss was in charge at the club for just eight games and failed to manage a single win.

His replacement will know they have to get results straight away if they are to stand a chance of succeeding at the club.

So who are the candidates to be the next in the Forest dugout? Here are the favourites according to the odds.

Sean Dyche 4/6

The former Everton and Burnley boss is currently the favourite to take over at the City Ground.

Sky Sports are reporting there have been talks between Forest and Dyche, who used to play for the club.

He is much closer to former Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who guided the club into Europe last season before being sacked earlier this campaign, than Postecoglou, in his philosophy, which would certainly make sense with this current group of players.

Dyche is said to be reluctant to commit to the club just for this season, however, and wants a longer deal.

Roberto Mancini 3/1

The former Manchester City and Italy manager has emerged as a surprise candidate for the Forest job with several reports that he has been identified as a possible replacement for Postecoglou.

His last job was as manager of the Saudi Arabia national team, which he left last year.

The Italian would bring plenty of experience to the role having won trophies across his career, which also included spells at Inter Milan, Lazio, Fiorentina and more.

Marco Silva 9/4

The Fulham head coach has done a fine job at Craven Cottage, winning the club promotion back to the Premier League in his first season in charge and has since stabilised the club back in the top flight.

He is out of contract at the end of this year but having formed an attachment with Fulham in his more than four years in charge, it is unclear whether he would want to leave in the middle of the season.

Rafa Benitez 12/1

Veteran boss Benitez currently looks an outsider for the job and is out of work since leaving Celta Vigo in 2024.

Like Mancini, he would bring a wealth of experience to the role and his appointment would likely see a revert back to the Espirito Santo way of playing.
