Jude Bellingham has six goals at the 2026 World Cup, including two in the 2-1 quarter-final win over Norway on Saturday 11 July. As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, his father Mark is a prolific former non-league striker and retired West Midlands Police sergeant.
Born in Southend and later settled in the West Midlands, the 50-year-old scored more than 700 career goals, becoming one of the most respected marksmen outside the professional game. He turned out for Stourbridge, Sutton Coldfield Town and Wolverhampton Casuals.
His career began in the mid-80s and was nearly ended in 2001 when he suffered a second torn cruciate ligament. He carried on and by the late 2010s stepped away from non-league football, switching to veterans' tournaments. His last club was Southam United in 2017.
Away from the pitch, he rose to sergeant with West Midlands Police and has since retired. After leaving the force, Mark and his wife Denise focused on guiding their sons' careers, helping Jude move from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid and England Under-21s player Jobe switch from Sunderland to Dortmund.
When Jude left Birmingham City at 17 to join Dortmund in 2020, Denise moved with him while Mark stayed with Jobe. In 2023, after Jude signed for Real Madrid and Jobe for Sunderland, Mark went to the north-east with Jobe and Denise relocated to Spain with Jude.
Jobe has said their example showed him how to treat people, work hard and pursue ambitions without being told. The England squad look all the richer for those efforts this year.
