The Super Eagles continued their perfect start to the tournament as they faced the Mambas in Fez, scoring four unanswered as they made it four wins in as many outings at AFCON 2025.

Ademola Lookman scored the opener after 20 minutes and Nigeria scarcely looked back as they put Mozambique, debutants in the knockout stages of an AFCON tournament, to the sword.

The win leaves Eric Chelle’s men just two wins away from the final, and they now know who they can face in the next stage of the competition.

Nigeria will come up against Algeria in the quarter-final, with the Desert Warriors coming out on top of a tricky test on Tuesday, winning 1-0 thanks to Adil Boulbina’s late goal in extra time.

Algeria, meanwhile, pose Nigeria their greatest technical test of the tournament so far.

Vladimir Petkovic’s side also completed the group stage without dropping points, with his star-studded squad only conceding once in the process.

Former Man City winger Riyad Mahrez has been in fine form for the Desert Warriors thus far in the competition, finding the back of the net three times in two appearances.

The north African side also boasts Man City full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer, and goalkeeper Luca Zidane, son of Zinedine, among their ranks.
