The Super Eagles are now the only side left at this year’s AFCON with a perfect winning record as second half goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams put the gloss on a dominant performance over Algeria on Saturday.

As a result, Eric Chelle’s side are now one win away from the final, and they already know who stands in their way of contesting a fourth AFCON title next Sunday.

Nigeria will come up against Morocco in the second semi-final on Wednesday night, with host nation coming out on top against Cameroon on Friday evening.

Morocco will certainly have the home advantage in the heavyweight last-four showdown, but Nigeria have proven they are difficult opposition to beat and will be boosted by keeping back-to-back clean sheets in the knockout phase.

Speaking after the win over Algeria, Osimhen - who scored and claimed an assist - said: “We are going to play against the host and we know how they are.

“We know they have a lot of quality players. Of course, they are in front of their massive crowd.

“But we are not the kind of team to be intimidated by any opponent. We will give our everything and try to win.”
