Across the 2024/25 season, the top four clubs when it came to scoring goals in the Premier League were 86 scored by Liverpool, 72 by Man City, 69 for Arsenal, Newcastle United scoring 68.

It might be stating the obvious, to a large degree, but plenty of goals are pretty much essential if you want to compete at the top end of the Premier League.

Chelsea finished fourth in the table and scored 64 goals, so once again reinforcing how essential having plenty of goals in the squad is.

When you add in the cup matches last season, Newcastle United scored 88 goals across the 2024/25 campaign in 48 matches.

Conclusions

During 2025, Newcastle United saw the likes of Wilson, Isak, Longstaff, Kelly, Dubravka and Almiron all leave, they contributed 28 Newcastle United goals in total in all competitions in the 2024/25 season.

Replacing them this summer, six new signings who with their clubs last season, scored 48 goals in all competitions.

We have already seen that Nick Woltemade is more than capable of scoring goals for Newcastle if he gets the right service.

It goes without saying that the injury to Yoane Wissa has been a huge blow, the signing who both Eddie Howe and the Newcastle fans were expecting to be the top scorer this season.

We also need both Elanga and Ramsey fully up to speed and integrated, as they should be able to contribute on the goals front to an extent as well. Anything from Malick Thiaw a bonus.
