Who wins Africa’s Player of the Year? CAF Announces Final Shortlists for the 2025 Awards
The Confederation of African Football CAF has officially revealed the final three nominee in all men’s categories for the CAF Awards 2025, with Mohamed Salah, Achraf Hakimi & Victor Osimhen headlining the race for Africa’s most prestigious individual honour.
The ceremony will be held on 19 November 2025 in Rabat, Morocco starting at 18:00 GMT celebrating performances across all African and global competitions between 6 January & 15 October 2025.
The final shortlist for Player of the Year features three giants of African football:
Salah and Hakimi enter the ceremony as slight favourites based on their influence & consistency in the 2024/25 season while Osimhen seeks to reclaim the crown he last won in 2023.
Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade features on the women’s shortlist for Player of the Year competing with Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy of Morocco.
