A leading member of the summer transfer wishlist at La Liga giants Barcelona, in the form of Espanyol star Joan García, was on Wednesday spotted training at the facilities of the Blaugrana.

The reason why? Commitments on the international front.

Goalkeeper Joan has of course taken his place centre stage in the headlines across all of Spanish football over recent days.

This comes amid the understanding that the aforementioned Barcelona are ready to ramp up their pursuit of the 24-year-old with a view to next season.

All of a Blaugrana persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be intrigued to learn of Joan on Wednesday taking to the pitch at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, inside Barca’s Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training complex.

This development, though, actually means little when it comes to the talented shot-stopper’s future.

Instead, Joan was simply fulfilling his duties as part of the Catalan national team’s training camp, ahead of a friendly meeting with Costa Rica later this evening:
