Why Andoni Iraola has doubts over Milan move | OneFootball

Serie A side Milan have been pursuing a move for Andoni Iraola for two days now but a deal is now facing a major roadblock.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that this is mainly because of the Spaniard’s doubts about moving to the Rossoneri.

Crystal Palace, Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica have been pursuing a move for him in recent days. He is much more keen on staying in England instead of moving to Italy and starting a new project at Milan from scratch, which is seen as a risk by the manager.

The Eagles are also willing to offer him triple the transfer budget, as compared to what the Rossoneri can put forward, mainly due to their absence from the Champions League. 

In the meantime, Milan are trying to get Ralf Rangnick on board and have held a meeting for the ex-Manchester United yesterday.

Iraola’s decision not a surprise

Considering the instable nature of how the game in Italy functions, it is fair to say that Iraola’s doubts are not a surprise. Besides, Milan aren’t the most reliable project either and political tension has been massive in the last couple of seasons.

Crystal Palace have made incredible progress in quite the same time and can also win the Conference League today. Financially, it would be an opportunity for Iraola to take the Eagles to another level at a club which has had a solid sporting plan for many years now.
