Corinthians will again be without André Ramalho against Flamengo on Sunday in the 27th round of the Brasileiro, as he is yet to receive full clearance following a bout of labyrinthitis.

According to Meu Timao, the 34-year-old has resumed partial training but remains under the care of the club’s medical staff and neurologist Rogério Tuma of Hospital Sírio-Libanês, with no return date for Fernando Diniz.

Part of his medication requires authorisation from the CBF, the Brazilian Football Confederation, to avoid any anti-doping breach, and the club are handling the necessary procedures before he can be fully cleared.

In his absence, Corinthians are expected to start João Pedro Tchoca and Iago Machado at centre-back at the Maracanã. Gustavo Henrique and Gabriel Paulista are likely to be rested for the Estudiantes decider on Wednesday at Neo Química Arena, the Libertadores quarter-final second leg.

Ramalho last played on 13 August, coming on in stoppage time of the 0-0 draw at Rosario Central’s Estadio Gigante de Arroyito, the first leg of the Libertadores last 16. He developed labyrinthitis after the match and spent a few days in hospital on returning to São Paulo.
