Arsenal have enjoyed a productive summer transfer window, strengthening their squad with several high-profile additions. Supporters could be content if no further signings were made, yet there remains the possibility of one more major acquisition before the deadline.
Mikel Arteta’s side has been enhanced with some of the most highly regarded talent available, and the ambition is clear: to end the club’s long wait for silverware. With the depth and quality already assembled, Arsenal are well positioned to compete on multiple fronts. However, the opportunity to secure an additional creative option is still being explored.
For several months, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. The speculation has persisted throughout the summer, and the Gunners are reportedly considering a late approach. Eze’s versatility and technical ability make him an attractive prospect for a side seeking both creativity and attacking flair from midfield.
Despite the ongoing interest, the move faces a significant obstacle. Crystal Palace have not been active in the transfer market, which increases the likelihood of them holding on to their most influential players. The club’s manager, Oliver Glasner, has already hinted at the situation, telling The Sun: “We have been quite passive in the transfer window. We have to add a few players to be ready for all the competitions.”

With Palace yet to secure substantial reinforcements, losing a player of Eze’s calibre would create a considerable gap in their squad. This reality may prompt the London side to resist any late bids, regardless of the fee on offer. Arsenal’s pursuit, therefore, depends heavily on whether Palace can conclude their own signings in the coming weeks.
From Arsenal’s perspective, the addition of Eze would provide another dimension to their attacking play. His ability to operate between the lines, carry the ball forward, and create opportunities for teammates aligns well with Arteta’s tactical vision. Nonetheless, with the transfer window approaching its final stretch, timing and negotiation will be crucial.
Should Crystal Palace remain short on numbers, Arsenal may have to postpone their interest until a later date. For now, Eze remains a target whose future will likely be determined by developments elsewhere in the market.
