The latest sale sanctioned by La Liga giants Barcelona will not have the effect desired by the club’s fanbase.

That’s according to the reliable ESport3, who have provided an insight into the impact (or rather lack thereof) of Mikayil Faye’s Barcelona exit.

Defender Faye, of course, saw his Camp Nou switch brought to a close earlier this afternoon.

After the Senegalese was deemed surplus to requirements by Hansi Flick and his coaching staff, Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais took advantage, to bring Faye to Roazhon Park on a permanent basis.

The expectation on the part of many of a Barcelona persuasion was that, in turn, the space would be opened up for summer signing Dani Olmo to at last be registered with La Liga.

Midfielder Olmo is for his part fresh off sitting out for the 2nd game in succession, watching on from the stands as his teammates got the better of Athletic Club on Saturday.

As per the aforementioned ESport3, however, in fact, Faye’s exit does not affect the situation of the club’s big-money arrival in any way:

‘The departure of Faye does not help in the registration of Dani Olmo, since the defender was also not registered in the league,’ it is confirmed.
