Italy international Federico Chiesa wasn’t even on the Liverpool bench for a 6-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday, but reputable English sources claim the winger’s absence was not due to an injury setback.
Italy international Chiesa was not involved in Liverpool’s 6-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday and didn’t even go on the bench in North London.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Chiesa’s omission from the squad was ‘part of a methodical approach to getting him back up to 100%.’ The Athletic confirms Chiesa’s absence was not due to an injury setback.
Chiesa has recently returned to action for the Reds for an EFL Cup victory against Southampton.
The former Juventus striker had missed over two months of action at Anfield due to fitness issues. He has delivered one assist in four appearances with the Premier League giants this term.
Italy coach Spalletti spoke about the ex-Juventus winger on Sunday, insisting he needs more playing time to return to the national team.
Chiesa hasn’t played for the Azzurri since last summer’s loss against Switzerland in the EURO 2024 Round of 16.
