Corinthians can register a renewed deal for Memphis despite four transfer bans in force. His current contract runs until 31 July and his future remains unresolved. The CBF has confirmed he can be registered as a contractual extension rather than a new signing.

Under that reading, a renewal may be processed even without an active CBF or FPF record.

An administrative error by Corinthians ended his CBF and FPF registration on 20 June. Although still under contract, he has been ineligible to play until a new registration is lodged.

Memphis is close to triggering a further R$ 3.1 million bonus. He would need to be named in two of the club’s three July fixtures. If achieved, he would have featured in at least 50% of Corinthians matches since August 2025, satisfying a set target.

Beyond existing players such as Memphis, the club cannot register newcomers because of four separate transfer bans that together exceed R$ 23 million. The first came on 21 May after a missed R$ 7.7 million payment to Philadelphia Union for José Martínez. On 13 July FIFA issued a disciplinary fine of about R$ 1.1 million related to delays in the Martínez, Charles and Talles Magno deals.

Five days later the CBF penalised the club over an R$ 8 million delay tied to a CNRD agreement. The fourth ban arrived last Tuesday over a R$ 6.2 million debt to Midtjylland, with the final €800,000 instalment for Charles unpaid, plus a €200,000 penalty, a $60,000 fine and $25,000 in costs.
