The Spaniard José Riveiro, former head coach of Orlando Pirates (South Africa) and Al Ahly (Egypt), has turned down an offer from ES Sétif, according to an African sports report published this Tuesday.

According to journalist Micky Jnr, Riveiro listened to the offer carefully but made it clear that he is not ready to return to coaching just yet.

After his recent tough stint with Al Ahly, which ended in a surprising dismissal, the Spaniard preferred to take a step back and give himself some time to reflect.

The Algerian club had offered to make him the highest-paid manager in the league and grant him full control over transfer dealings. Despite these benefits, Riveiro declined.

Nevertheless, ES Sétif still sees him as the ideal candidate for their new project and may return with another offer soon.
