Estevao is missing Chelsea’s match against West Ham after flying home to Brazil due to personal reasons.
The Brazilian is not part of the Blues’ matchday squad for their Saturday evening kick-off against the Hammers, and Standard Sport understands it is because he has had to fly back to his native to see to a personal matter.
It is not yet known whether he will be available for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday, but he must now be considered a doubt.
It comes after the 18-year-old started both of the Blues’ last two matches, against Crystal Palace and Napoli. He scored the opening goal of Chelsea’s 3-1 win over the Eagles.
That was after having missed the 2-0 win over Brentford a fortnight ago due to suffering badly from an illness that had swept through the Chelsea camp that week and also made Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and a number of backroom staff members poorly.
Estevao has enjoyed a breakout first season for Chelsea following his summer move from Palmeiras, who he scored for against Chelsea in last summer’s Club World Cup just weeks before moving to London to complete his prearranged transfer to the Blues.
Estevao has six goals and three assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea.
