A big moment in the Chelsea – Wrexham game on Saturday came in the 65 minute, when Marc Cucurella came on for the Blues.
The left back is a key player for Liam Rosenior, and hasn’t started a game since the 10th of February when he was taken off at half time in the game against Leeds.
After featuring for 11 minutes as a sub against Aston Villa last week, then getting 25 minutes of normal time plus 30 minutes of extra time against Wrexham, the full back must be close to ready for a start against PSG on Wednesday night.
It will be really tight though, and we’d imagine that Rosenior has a really tough call to make. Given that it was a hamstring injury, we’re sure there’s going to be a lot of caution with reintroducing him to action.
We wonder if that extra 30 minutes will prove to be a positive (in helping Cucurella get to match sharpness faster) or negative, in that it will count towards the limits of minutes he’s allowed by the physios in his recovery?
We will hopefully find out more from Rosenior in his presser tomorrow.
Former Man U striker Andy Cole is a huge fan of Liam Rosenior and is really happy to see him do so well – but he has some advice for him too.
Chelsea’s new ritual for before games is attracting a bit of attention – and not in a positive way. But we suspect that’s the point.
