An explanation for the dejected appearance of Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick following the club’s latest outing has been forthcoming online.

Tactician Flick of course turned heads across across the Spanish football landscape on Saturday evening.

This came after the German was left looking alarmingly disheartened, despite his side’s 3-1 victory over Deportivo Alavés.

So down did Flick appear, that Barcelona winger Raphinha felt it necessary to step in to check on the wellbeing of his manager:

Speculation surrounding the reasoning for as much has since been rampant online, with many sources having pointed towards Flick being unhappy with the performance put forth by his players.

An altogether different explanation, however, has on Sunday been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who have confirmed that:

‘Flick finished the match annoyed with the fourth official, Álvaro Cánovas García-Villarrubia, for the dismissals of goalkeeping coach José Ramón de la Fuente and assistant coach Marcus Sorg, both for protesting from the bench.’
