Atalanta are now more open to the Juventus proposal for Liverpool target Teun Koopmeiners, because Giorgio Scalvini’s injury makes the inclusion of Dean Huijsen crucial.

The Dutch midfielder has long been wanted by the Bianconeri and is also on the radar of Liverpool, who faced him in the Europa League.

It had already been suggested last week that Juve were hoping to include defender Huijsen as part of the deal to lower the €60m asking price.

Now that could be even more important, seeing as Scalvini tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee on Sunday and could be out for up to six months.

Huijsen spent the last six months on loan at Roma and that experience boosted his value on the transfer market.

Atalanta open to Koopmeiners call from Juventus

Meanwhile, Atalanta director Luca Percassi spoke to reporters and confirmed he would not ignore Juventus if they called.

“If a call comes for Koopmeiners, of course I will reply, as I always do. The transfer market is always unpredictable.”

The rumours that Koopmeiners could be going to Juventus have been circulating for months and his Atalanta teammates are aware of it too.

During the open-top bus parade to celebrate the Europa League triumph in Bergamo last week, Marten de Roon joined in the ‘anyone who doesn’t jump is a Juventino’ chant with the crowd and tried to cajole Koopmeiners into taking part, but the midfielder refused to bounce along.
