Serie A side Juventus appeared close to signing Franck Kessie on a free transfer not too long ago. The player was keen on the move but as things stand, the deal will not go through.

Juventus had offered the Ivorian a two-year deal worth €4.5 million per season plus bonuses. But this has been rejected by the player and signing-on fee is the key reason behind this decision.

As a result, there is a rift between the parties and there is a chance this could be decisive, even if discussions had gone on for several days.

Gianluca Di Marzio believes the player has communicated to Juventus that the financial conditions needed for an agreement don’t exist. As a result, the deal is definitely off.

The player remains a free agent and his future also remains uncertain.

This would come as a blow for Juventus, who have limited certainties in the heart of the park. While Douglas Luiz has been involved, there is little guarantee that he is a long-term solution and the same applies to Teun Koopmeiners, who could yet depart.
