Serie A side Milan are keen on appointing Andoni Iraola, with Max Allegri sacked from the position of manager.
A meeting between the two parties was expected to be held today and Daniele Longo details the move further, while also adding reasons why the Spaniard has impressed the club quite a lot.
The meeting today will be the second one between the parties. The first one was held earlier this month and it was quite a positive one. Iraola impressed everyone and this pushed Milan into seeking another meeting to progress talks.
Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen have explored a move for Iraola. Milan were aware of this and after the first meeting, they have decided to push in an attempt to beat competition.
Iraola has now put discussions on hold to prioritise the Rossoneri, which is giving Milan confidence about closing a deal soon.
Milan want to revolutionise their sporting project and have been left impressed by what Cesc Fabregas has done at Como. They see Iraola as someone who is of a similar ilk, having taken Bournemouth to European football for the first time.
His playing style is appealing to the Rossoneri, who see him as someone who can give the club a clear sporting identity.
