Why Nico Williams is probably not the player Arsenal needs now

Nico Williams is one of the wingers Arsenal have followed for a long time, and after missing out on a move for Vinicius Junior, the Gunners have been tipped to approach the Athletic Club star.

The World Cup winner remains one of the top wingers in the world and played a key role in the World Cup final, supplying the match-winning assist for the Spanish national team. His qualities would make him an attractive option for Arsenal as they continue looking for attacking reinforcements.

Williams has a long contract with Athletic Club after committing his future to them just a year ago. However, every player has a price, while La Liga players also have release clauses, meaning a potential move could still be possible if Arsenal decide to pursue him.

Williams could strengthen Arsenal

Williams would be a fine signing for Arsenal, but his recent injury problems could make the Gunners think carefully before committing to a deal. The concern is whether Williams could adapt to the demands of English football without suffering further fitness problems. The winger has been injured too often in recent times, and Arsenal must be careful not to spend heavily on a player who could spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.
