The brass at Real Madrid will be forced to fork over a notable sum to their counterparts at Borussia Dortmund, in the case of besting them in the Champions League final.
Los Blancos, of course, are fresh off booking their spot in yet another European showcase late on Wednesday night.
Owing to a double on the part of super-sub Joselu, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops navigated their way beyond Bayern Munich, by an aggregate of four goals to three.
And standing in the way of Real’s charge towards a record 15th Champions League title are another German giant, in the form of Borussia Dortmund.
BVB battled their way to a hugely impressive 2-0 semi-final downing of Paris Saint-Germain, now just a single game away from what would mark nothing short of a historic achievement on the continent.
And yet, as alluded to above, even in the case of falling to defeat at Wembley early next month, Dortmund will have the consolation prize of a notable payout from none other than their upcoming opponents.
This comes owing to the terms of the transfer which sent Jude Bellingham to the latter last summer.
As revealed by Patrick Berger of Sky Germany, it was agreed between the clubs that, in the case of midfielder Bellingham sealing Champions League glory with Real Madrid, a clause worth close to €5 million would be activated in Dortmund’s favour.
