Oumar Solet has surged to the top of Inter’s priority list this summer because the Udinese defender can play in a variety of roles, and a big obstacle has been removed.
It is no secret that he has been on their radar for many months, since practically the moment he arrived at Udinese as a free agent in January 2025.
He has gone from strength to strength with regular Serie A football, making 38 appearances this season, contributing three goals and an assist.

Solet is the preferred candidate because of his versatility, as he is capable of playing in any of the roles for Cristian Chivu’s back three.
Personal terms were already reportedly agreed for a contract with Inter until June 2031.

Udinese are asking for €25m, though that could be lowered with the inclusion of a player from the Inter youth team as part of the agreement.
There is also the possibility of a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season, a way of spreading out the cost.
However, there has been another very recent development that changed the situation and which had been keeping the Nerazzurri hesitant.
In May 2025, Solet was accused of sexual assault by a woman who was at a party at his house in Udine.
The investigation had been hanging over him, but last week the authorities officially shelved the case.
