Leading figures in a position of power at La Liga giants Real Madrid would not be at all against the potential sale of Vinícius Jr. before the summer is out. This comes amid mounting speculation surrounding the situation of the Brazilian in Spain’s capital.
Defining Vinícius’ future has emerged as something of a priority for those in the boardroom at the Santiago Bernabéu over recent weeks.
Ahead of the expiration of the Brazilian’s contract terms in the summer of 2027, Premier League champions Arsenal have launched a sudden all-out assault on Vinícius’ signature.
A new round of discussions over a contract extension have in turn been pencilled in for the days ahead, between Florentino Pérez, his staff and the entourage of Real Madrid’s long-time attacking talisman.
Should the talks in question not go according to plan, though, several board members have made clear their preference for a sale to be sanctioned at the earliest opportunity. That’s according ot The Athletic, who have on Tuesday confirmed:
‘Key figures at the club are in favour of a sale this month if no agreement is reached on an extension, in order to prevent Vinicius Jr potentially leaving as a free agent next summer.’
A definitive conclusion to the saga could therefore be forthcoming as early as this week…
