Traditionally when a player signs for FC Barcelona, the club presents the player on the Camp Nou pitch in front of adorning fans.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the reason was due to yesterday's World Cup final in which Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time.

Barça president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco attended the game and are not expected back in Barcelona until Tuesday.

Beyond that date, Adeyemi is scheduled to be presented to the press and fans on Wednesday, 22 July at the Catalan club's stadium.

The original plan was to finalize the deal before the weekend so the 24-year-old could immediately join training under Hansi Flick.
