Will Dennis has left AFC Bournemouth to join MK Dons on a permanent deal, ending a decade at the Cherries.

The club said in a statement that they thanked Dennis for his commitment and wished him well for the next chapter of his career.

Dennis joined Bournemouth at 15 in 2016 and later turned professional. He had loans at Guernsey, Weymouth, Wealdstone, Slough, Klimarnock and Leyton Orient, impressing in the second half of last season with the latter.

It is understood the plan this summer was another loan, with Bournemouth seeking a second-choice keeper to compete with Djordje Petrovic. They were unable to re-sign Christos Mandas on loan from Lazio, then announced Michele Di Gregorio had arrived on loan with an option to buy from Juventus.

That development paved the way for Dennis to depart, and he now joins League One side MK Dons on a permanent basis. The 26-year-old has one Cherries first-team appearance, a 4-1 FA Cup win over Oldham Athletic in the 2020/21 third round.

MK Dons sit 14th in League One, with two draws from their first two matches against Oxford United and Huddersfield.
