Inter Milan will have to consider whether they’re willing to “gamble” on a start for Marcus Thuram against Barcelona on Wednesday.
Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, report that the Frenchman still has not returned to group training ahead of the Champions League semifinal first leg showdown.
Inter Milan have one absolutely crucial fitness issue ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal first leg against Barcelona.
That concerns the availability of striker Marcus Thuram.
The last time that the France international played was also in the Champions League. He played all ninety minutes of Inter’s quarterfinal second leg against Bayern Munich.
However, that match took its toll on Thuram, physically.
The 27-year-old suffered some muscular fatigue in his thigh. This saw him miss matches against Bologna and AC Milan. He will also be absent against Roma this afternoon.

The problem Marcus Thuram is not a serious one.
The Frenchman should be able to be fit for Wednesday’s match against Barcelona.
However, there remain big doubts about just what condition Thuram will be in.
Mediaset report that Thuram was able to increase the intensity of his individual training yesterday. He carried out some high-intensity sprints.
That led to some hope that the 27-year-old would be able to carry out some work with the rest of the squad today.
In that case, it would have been a very positive sign that Thuram would be ready to start against Barcelona.
However, reports Mediaset, Thuram did not train with the rest of the group at all today. He only continued his individual work.
Therefore, there are certainly doubts about the Frenchman’s condition on Wednesday. He could lack match-fitness, or even be a risk for aggravating his injury.
