Liverpool will entertain Sunderland at Anfield this Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Reds managed to secure a solid 2-0 win away at West Ham United recently, which should give them some confidence going into this game.
Arne Slot will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first XI for this contest. Mohamed Salah could play from the start of this game, while Joe Gomez makes way for him and drops to the bench.
Alisson Becker will feature in between the sticks for the Merseyside club once again after keeping a clean sheet in his last appearance. Ibrahima Konate will function alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the centre of the Liverpool backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive third of the pitch.
Dominik Szoboszlai could be asked to fill in as a makeshift right-back, while Milos Kerkez looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Slot will allow both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will anchor the midfield for the Merseyside club as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Mohamed Salah will function just ahead of them as part of Slot’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Reds are to come out on top in midweek.
Federico Chiesa, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Alexander Isak will spearhead Slot’s attack up top. He would be eager to put in another productive display after getting his name on the scoresheet against the Hammers last weekend.
Hugo Ekitike will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Liverpool are in need of a goal by then.
