Racing Club de Lens manager Will Still was up front about an impending departure for centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov (20 ) in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Sang & Or’s trip to Le Havre on Sunday afternoon. When questioned about the Uzbek’s absence from today’s training session with Lens, Still admitted “He’s sick. He’s gone home because he’s really ill.”

The Anglo-Belgian was however up front about a potentially imminent move to Manchester City during the press conference, transcribed by L’Équipe“We’re not going to lie to ourselves. We know that negotiations are underway and that things are moving. There’s wind in his sails. We’re not fooled.”“But he’s still here, he’s a Lens player. If anything happens, you’ll probably be the first to know. It’s a joke. With social networks, the big journalists know everything before anyone else.”“If he is available, he’ll be in the squad and on the pitch at Le Havre,” finished Still on the matter.According to a report earlier today from Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Khusanov (20) missed training with RC Lens today whilst an agreement for his departure to Manchester City has been drawing closer. The Uzbekistan international is another step closer to joining the last season’s Premier League champions, with Foot Mercato reporting that Les Sang & Or could be receiving a record fee of €50m with bonuses for the player. Khusanov has reportedly already agreed upon personal terms with the Premier League club, who are also hoping to tie up a deal for Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush in the coming week. GFFN | George Boxall
