Eredivisie club Willem II are in talks about a loan move for Manchester United striker Chido Obi, according to The Athletic.

The Man United starlet is not in the first-team plans of manager Michael Carrick and could be on his way out of the Old Trafford club.

Obi made seven Premier League appearances under former Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim in 2024-25, but the 18-year-old did not make any appearances for the first-team last season.

The Dutchman bagged 20 goals in 37 games for the Under-18s and Under-21s last term and will be keen to prove himself at senior level.

Willem II are willing to hand him an opportunity and talks are ongoing.

Feyenoord also made a move for Obi earlier in the window but a deal did not materialise.

Willem II returned to the Dutch top-flight this season and are looking to bolster their attacking ranks to boost their survival chances.

They have one draw and two defeats from their opening three games of the new Eredivisie season and could do with a quality goalscorer.

The summer transfer window in the Netherlands does not close until tomorrow night, and there is enough time to get the deal done.
