Having played for RB Leipzig since 2015, Willi Orban’s time with Die Roten Bullen appears to be drawing to a close.

According to Sport Bild, RB Leipzig do not plan to extend the 33-year-old’s contract beyond 2027.

Orban could still spend one final season at the club, provided he does not seek a move and is willing to accept a role as a substitute.

Arriving from Stade Reims for a reported €21 million this summer, 20-year-old Abdoul Koné is expected to step straight into the starting XI at the expense of Orban.

Another experienced player, Lukas Klostermann, is also reportedly not part of the club’s future plans, with Leipzig keen to remove the out-of-favour defender from their payroll.

However, with Klostermann earning an estimated €7 million per year – making him one of the top earners – it's uncertain if he's willing to leave. The 29-year-old was reportedly encouraged to move on last summer, but chose to stay despite very limited playing opportunities.

So far this season, Klostermann has featured for just 76 minutes across six appearances.
