William Mikelbrencis joins second-tier Darmstadt on free, three-year deal to 2029

William Mikelbrencis has joined Darmstadt on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract through June 2029 after four years with Hamburg.

According to L'Équipe, the French right-back completed the move on Saturday at the end of the window, joining the German second division side.

Mikelbrencis left Metz at 18 and launched his senior career in Hamburg, where he won promotion then sampled the Bundesliga.

He has been a regular for France at youth level from U16 to U20.

Before choosing Darmstadt, he held discussions with Espanyol Barcelona, PAOK Salonika and Le Havre.
