William Saliba (24) is set to sign a contract extension at Arsenal, according to a report from The Athletic.

There has been uncertainty surrounding Saliba’s future at the Emirates Stadium. The France international’s current deal with The Gunners had been set to expire in the summer of 2027. With his contract slowly running down, there has been interest from Real Madrid, who are long-term suitors of the former AS Saint-Étienne defender.

However, the Frenchman is now set to end that uncertainty. The Athletic understands that Saliba has agreed a new contract beyond 2027. The length of the new deal has not yet been revealed. The deal is expected to be officially signed in the coming days.

Saliba joined the Premier League side back in 2019, however, he needed loan spells at OGC Nice and finally at Olympique de Marseille before establishing himself under Mikel Arteta. He has since become an indispensable figure for Arsenal, as evidenced by the club’s desperation to get him to commit his long-term future to the side.
