Williams Alarcón edges out Herrera to replace Paredes

Williams Alarcón wins the battle against Ander Herrera for the position of Leandro Paredes, in his absence due to the call-up to the Argentine National Team. The Chilean midfielder was a starter in the practice organized this Wednesday by Claudio Úbeda at La Bombonera.

The team trained this afternoon at the Alberto J. Armando stadium. There, Miguel Ángel Russo's coaching staff arranged a formal football practice in which Williams Alarcón took Leandro Paredes' place. The native of Conchalí is ahead of the Basque, who initially seemed to easily take over that position on the field in the absence of the world champion.

The Chilean would be a starter against Barracas Central.

It should be remembered that Leandro Paredes will not be in the match to be played this Saturday from 14:30 hours at the Claudio Fabián Tapia stadium because he is in the United States with the Argentine National Team. There, the Albiceleste will face Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

With Williams Alarcón, the only change Boca would make vs Barracas

If his presence against Barracas Central is confirmed, Alarcón will play his 26th match wearing Boca's jersey. It will be his tenth starting as a starter. He recently added 29 minutes against Lepra coming off the bench, the same he did against Defensa y Justicia.
