Nottingham Forest are pushing to secure Neco Williams on upgraded terms after his outstanding 2025/26, when he was named Player of the Season. According to Fabrizio Romano, talks with the Welsh defender are at an advanced stage and a new agreement is close.

His form has drawn interest from Manchester United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Everton. Forest aim to tie him to fresh terms to ward off approaches.

Williams arrived from Liverpool in 2022 for a reported £17 million. He extended his deal last year to run until 2029, and the club now want to reward him further.

An undisputed starter, he has made 160 appearances and can operate on either flank. That versatility is valuable for head coach Vitor Pereira.

Forest’s retention drive continues, with centre-back Murillo extending to 2030 last month. Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez are reportedly under consideration for improved terms.

By contrast, contract talks for Pereira have been paused. He has 12 months left on his deal, with discussions expected to resume once the new season begins.
