Willian Arão feels calf discomfort, Santos concerned after Bragantino draw

Santos midfielder Willian Arão felt discomfort in his right calf and was withdrawn at half-time during Sunday’s draw with Red Bull Bragantino at the Neo Química Arena in the fifth round of the 2026 Paulistão.

According to Diario Do Peixe, he will undergo imaging tests on Monday and the situation has concerned the coaching staff.

It is the same area he injured last year, which kept him sidelined for more than two months.

The staff had considered resting him because he had played the first four Paulistão fixtures, but he was named in the starting line-up.

Santos should have Gabriel Bontempo available for the position in the coming matches. Gustavo Henrique, who featured in the Copinha, is expected to remain out for a few more weeks.
