Wrexham and Middlesbrough drew 2-2 at the Cae Ras on Saturday, with Middlesbrough staying fifth to enter the promotion play-offs as the hosts finished seventh.

In the fourth minute, Tommy Conway finished from close range to put the visitors ahead.

Josh Windass whipped a free-kick into the top corner to level (28.). Sam Smith then glanced in Issa Kabore's cross (41.) before David Strelec turned in Matt Targett's centre to restore parity (43.).

After the restart, Riley McGree's introduction helped Boro carry more threat and Danny Ward denied Leo Castledine from point-blank range during a lively spell.

In the closing stages, Sol Brynn tipped over a Kieffer Moore header in the second minute of stoppage time.

Wrexham registered 20 attempts, with eight on target. Boro produced 11 efforts and hit the target five times.
