Marred by a nasty calf injury, Matteo Darmian has been out of action since the tail-end of September.

Indeed, he injured himself during Inter’s commanding 3-0 home win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League.

Despite recently returning to training, the former AC Milan star remains unavailable for selection.

Darmian’s recovery was supposed to be a boost for Inter as they lack numbers on the right wing.

Indeed, starting wingback Denzel Dumfries underwent ankle surgery last week.

Therefore, he will not return to the field at least until March, leaving Luis Henrique as the only senior option on the right flank.

Unfortunately for Cristian Chivu, he will not be able to call upon Darmian’s services until 2026.
