An exciting winger is ready to join Liverpool.
Richard Hughes hasn't quite established the dynasty he has been looking to build at Anfield. The Reds have made important first steps in their endeavours; however a few final jigsaw pieces remain.
The attack, the midfield and the defence are not quite complete yet, although they are close to it.
Liverpool could certainly do with another body in attack. Especially with Mo Salah set to be on the move during the African Cup of Nations later this season.
It's not known how many games he will miss - although he could be away for around a month if Egypt reach the final.
How Liverpool are going to replace him remains to be seen. Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak give the Reds added firepower in attack but will it be enough?
Only time will tell. Liverpool do have the option of dipping into the marker though in order to bring in another right-winger.
With AFCON taking place during January, the transfer window will be open and Hughes could make yet another move, even after the brilliant summer he delivered.
That's because a Brazilian winger who Liverpool have been keeping an eye on is seemingly ready to join the Reds.
GOAL have reported recently that Vasco de Gama's Rayan has been long on Liverpool's radar. The 19-year-old is also wanted by Tottenham which means the Reds will have to move quickly, especially after his recent performances.
Rayan has been on fire in recent weeks, and he's scored four goals in his last four matches. When we profiled him a few months ago, the only question marks were about his productivity.
We said this will improve with time given his output was significantly higher at academy level and when it does, he'll be ready to make the leap away from Brazil.
Now Rayan has pretty much confirmed with his performances that he's ready to join Liverpool. He's dominating defences in Brazil and is probably the best teenager in the league.
Aside from his goals, he is a constant threat for Vasco, and also contributes a lot defensively. His pressing game is something that would be well-suited to Arne Slot's style of play.
He's a right-winger, who is accustomed to playing on that side of the pitch so he could be a great deputy to Salah as well.
Interestingly, he is capable of playing through the middle as well so when Salah returns he could be another option centrally.
Ultimately, though at 19-years-old he'd be a signing for the future.
Liverpool have long wanted to break into the South American market and Rayan presents the perfect opportunity for the Reds to finally sign a player from the continent.
He seems to fit the profile of what Slot needs and on top of that, there is a need for reinforcements in attack with AFCON taking place this year.
