Ed Still’s time in charge with Eupen got off to a winning start away to Seraing. In a relegation six pointer, it was the Pandas who came away with all three points thanks to an 88th minute winner from Regan Charles-Cook. The former Ross County man, who joined the east Belgian side in the summer, got his third goal of the season as Eupen began to create some breathing space between themselves and the bottom three.
Still’s team are now 13th in the table, leapfrogging a number of sides as they moved away from just above the relegation zone. They have opened up a six point gap to Zulte Waregem who play after Christmas against Sint-Truiden. Eupen are now three games unbeaten in the league. The Pandas also moved above KV Mechelen, who were denied a win against Cercle Brugge thanks to a third penalty save of the season from Radoslaw Majecki.
For Seraing, they remain winless since their derby win over Standard Liege on the 30th of September. They have not picked up a point since the 8th of October either. The Metalos remain rooted to the foot of the table with just 11 points from 18 matches.
