Belgium and Tunisia are playing friendlies in North America, Japan are doing likewise in the UK and all three came away with wins on Saturday. We take a look at all of the day’s action.
Three Eagles were involved in international friendlies on Saturday as they ramp up their preparations for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA. Arthur Theate and Ellyes Skhiri are currently in two of the three host nations. Belgium initially fell behind 1-0 in Atlanta but came back to beat USA 5-2, while Tunisia defeated Haiti 1-0 in Toronto, Canada. Skhiri played the full 90 minutes, while Theate, who recently made his comeback from a knee injury against Mainz, was an unused substitute. The Red Devils will next take on against World Cup hosts Mexico in Chicago, with Tunisia facing another host nation in Canada.
Japan have set up camp in the UK, and their first match over there saw them take on Scotland. Ritsu Doan came on in the 62nd minute for the Samurai Blue, who edged out the hosts 1-0 in Glasgow. Next up for Japan will be England.
Germany versus Ghana
Love Arrhov was in action for Sweden’s U19s at the DFB-Campus in Frankfurt – a mere stone’s throw away from the ProfiCamp at Deutsche Bank Park. He played the full 90 minutes in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Austria in Euro qualifying.
Meanwhile, the German senior side also looking ahead to this summer’s World Cup. They will play Ghana early next week with Nathaniel Brown in their squad.
