Chelsea left back Marc Cucurella has been explaining the Chelsea project and the ambitions they have to win more silverware.

The Blues full back has been speaking ahead of their game against Bournemouth tonight in the Premier League clash.

The Cherries are in a tough run of form right now but really, Chelsea haven’t been much different even though the difference in league position would suggest that they are. Chelsea need to step up their form but also, Bournemouth need to play much better now aa well because they are currently fighting against relegation.

Chelsea welcome Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge tonight and Cucurella has been speaking in the match day program.

‘I think we deserve these moments,’ says the energetic left-back. ‘Since the beginning, we started with a new idea and then we finished last season with two trophies. So I think it was a big achievement and the summer was a good point to restart, to put more work into it, to be more ambitious.

‘We had some tough moments during last season, but we stayed together and then we finally won two big trophies. I think we should be proud of it, but for sure we want more.’

Axel Disasi remains a player in Chelsea’s now much reduced bomb squad, and one they would love to shift in January. There is talk of Leeds interest – but it remains to be seen whether anything will come of it.

Enzo Maresca spoke about Jorrel Hato in his press conference today. The backup left back is needed to step up now that Marc Cucurella has hurt his hamstring, but the Dutchman has also picked up a knock. It’s another frustrating moment from a frustrating first season for him at Chelsea.
