With Alexander Isak it is our duty to laugh at him as this disaster has now unfolded

Alexander Isak continues to make headlines.
After a transfer saga, Liverpool smashed the record spent by a Premier League club on any player, Newcastle United banking £130m.
Alexander Isak the most sought after striker in the Premier League, arguably across Europe as well, finally getting forcing his way to Anfield.
What could possibly go wrong?
Hilariously, pretty much everything.
It is now over six months since Alexander Isak scored a goal at the top level for club or country, only a strike in the Carabao Cup against second tier Southampton since early May 2025.
Liverpool fans furious as they have seen their team lose seven of their last ten matches and their season in real danger of collapse, whilst their star signing watches on ineffectively, both from off the pitch and when he is on it. Arne Slot showing just how little faith he has in Alexander Isak, when getting mauled 3-0 by Man City on Sunday he didn’t even bring him off the bench.
Meanwhile, Alexander Isak’s shameless and selfish behaviour a key reason why Sweden’s 2026 World Cup finals hope has been so sabotaged.
After the way he behaved towards Eddie Howe, his NUFC teammates and the club overall, it is the absolute duty of all Newcastle United fans to laugh at Alexander Isak.
Apparently though, according to some, we shouldn’t be doing this. That we as Newcastle United fans are the ones who are shameless, kicking a man when he is down…sorry, rat.
This to me though is absolutely the way to behave as a football fan when somebody has shown such disrespect, caused so many problems for your club,
Yoane Wissa
I also absolutely understand why Brentford fans did what they did on Sunday.
Mocking the absent Yoane Wissa as the Bees ran out comfortable winners.
If I was them I would be doing the same, Wissa having done a mini-Isak in the summer. Going on striker and refusing to train, until quickly coming to his senses and getting back training with the rest of the Brentford players. However, the damage was done in the eyes of their supporters and they quite correctly, won’t be letting their ex-striker forget. Why should they be sympathising when he picks up an injury that has so far prevented him playing for United?
Trent Alexander-Arnold
For any Liverpool fans thinking Newcastle United fans are out of order with Alexander Isak, you only need to look at Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Cynically running down his contract at Liverpool so he could get even more millions when joining Real Madrid, the scousers weren’t going to get a penny for him until the Spanish club belatedly paid a meagre £10m, so the (former!) England right-back could play in the Club World Cup in the summer.
He has had a nightmare at Real Madrid and dropped by England, he only got nine minutes on his ’emotional’ return to Anfield when Real Madrid lost there last week in the Champions League. Real Madrid now wondering whether they have actually overpaid for him!! Liverpool fans totally within their rights to give Trent Alexander-Arnold dogs abuse when getting the chance.
Ryan Fraser
I never wanted him at Newcastle United as he behaved so shamefully towards Bournemouth and Eddie Howe. Another to cynically run his Bournemouth contract down so that he could leave for nothing and get far higher wages with NUFC, due to no transfer fee to pay. With the Cherries having a desperate fight against relegation, he even did a Michael Owen, refusing to play in the final stages of the 2019/20 season as if he got injured it could impact his chances of maximising his free transfer move and huge wages. Bournemouth were relegated and Newcastle United fans had the misfortune of seeing Fraser sign for them, on a long-term contract and massive wages.
Bournemouth fans, not surprisingly, still haven’t forgotten this and certainly haven’t forgiven him.
Back to Alexander Isak
I have also found it a huge bonus just how many fans of other clubs have joined in with the laughter aimed at Alexander Isak. His disgraceful behaviour in the summer was something that united so many fans when he went on strike at Newcastle United and showed such a lack of respect for Eddie Howe and everybody else associated with NUFC, including/especially the fans. A striker who was so coveted by so many supporters of so many other clubs, I wonder just how many Arsenal fans and those of other clubs, would now even want Alexander Isak if he became available.
Now he has shown what his true character is and how transient his talent can be on the pitch, one thing is for sure, no club will ever be paying for Isak anything close to the £130m that Newcastle United banked for him.
