Vasco have resumed transfer work after Pedrinho returned to lead football, with talks for Deossa advanced, though the club remains cautious after recent disruption. A court intervention over the SAF slowed activity in recent weeks.

According to Globo.com, the Real Betis midfielder has agreed wages and approved the move, and on Monday Vasco advanced the guarantees requested for his release.

The deal is a loan with an obligation to buy worth 10 million euros, with payments starting next year. This aligns with the possible entry of businessman Marcos Lamacchia, in advanced talks to acquire the SAF.

Club figures acknowledge progress but will not call it done, a stance shaped by setbacks this window, including the failed pursuit of coach Fernando Seabra.

Recruitment is urgent in two areas, a tall centre-back and a holding midfielder. The latter need predates Hugo Moura’s likely move to Al-Fayha, managed by Fábio Carille in Saudi Arabia.

Director of football Admar Lopes said on Monday he is working with the possibility of approval for greater investment during the window, which would depend on an agreement with Lamacchia’s group over the SAF sale.

For now the budget is tight, so loans and soon-to-expire contracts are preferred. Expecting finances to improve, the club aims to wait for better opportunities rather than commit scarce funds. Deossa is the exception, tied to Lamacchia’s initial investment and his plan to help from afar until the SAF deal is finalised.
