FC Bayern are apparently facing stiff competition in their pursuit of Kennet Eichhorn, with Manchester City and Pep Guardiola reportedly already making concrete moves to sign the Hertha talent
The transfer poker for Kennet Eichhorn is gathering pace, with Sky reporting that Manchester City are currently working intensively on signing the top German talent from Hertha BSC
The English club’s plan is to sign Eichhorn from Hertha and then loan him out to Bayer Leverkusen so that the midfielder can continue to gain regular match practice in the Bundesliga
This would be a major setback for FC Bayern, who have been looking closely at the 16-year-old, who is seen internally as an absolute dream solution for the future in central midfield, for months
According to Sky, the record champions‘ interest remains concrete, with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig also reportedly still in the running
Eichhorn is regarded as one of the greatest German midfield talents of his age. Despite his young age, the U17 international is already a regular for Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga 2
His calmness on the ball, intelligence and dynamism in the center in particular are attracting attention throughout Europe
According to earlier reports, FC Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl is a strong advocate of a transfer, and internally the teenager is even said to be the top priority for strengthening the midfield
However, there have recently been differing opinions at Säbener Straße as to whether a deal makes sense. The main reason for this is the club’s financial priorities. A large part of the transfer budget is likely to be reserved for the attack in the summer
Nevertheless, Eichhorn remains extremely interesting due to his comparatively moderate release clause, which according to Sky is between ten and twelve million euros
Particularly explosive from Bayern’s point of view: Manchester City now seem to be getting serious. The fact that Guardiola is said to be personally involved in the poker game underlines the importance of the talent for the Citizens

With the planned Leverkusen model, the English club have apparently already drawn up a concrete development plan for Eichhorn
The prospect of initially being able to continue playing in the Bundesliga could be particularly attractive for the youngster
According to the report, Eichhorn has not yet made a decision on his future, but it is clear that the competition for the Hertha youngster is becoming increasingly intense for FC Bayern.
