Wojciech Szczesny looks set to remain at Barcelona for a second season after reversing his retirement to join the Catalan giants in October.
The former Poland international arrived as injury cover after Marc-Andre ter Stegen ruptured a tendon in his knee, signing a short-term contract until the summer. Ter Stegen started to resume some training in early February and could re-join the wider squad at some point next month.
But Szczesny appears keen to stay, despite it being likely that he would be relegated to a back-up role once the club captain is fully fit next season.
"Tek is delighted at Barcelona, and Barca is very happy with Tek, so we'll easily reach an agreement," agent Joshua Barnett predicted in comments shared with Jijantes.
"When the time is right, we'll reach an understanding quickly and won't put any obstacles in the way of him renewing his contract," he added, not foreseeing any issues.

"We're at the most important moment of the season, and maybe it's not the time to talk about it, but I insist that once we get to work on it, there won't be any problems and we'll understand each other very easily."
Szczesny initially had to wait for his chance to play, with Barcelona coach Hansi Flick first giving the opportunity to Inaki Pena to replace Ter Stegen. But the switch for the veteran Pole was made in January, going on to earn particular plaudits for a recent Champions League display against Benfica.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper had surprised plenty when he called time on his career last summer. He missed only three Serie A games for Juventus in 2023/24 and was then Poland's starter at the European Championship tournament.
But when his Juve contract was terminated - Szczesny later revealed he didn't plan to leave Juventus or retire the way it ended up happening - he decided against finding a new club and made a shock announcement, aged 34, only 13 days later.
