After missing out on Jørgen Strand Larsen, who joined Wolves for a reported €30m, Wolfsburg are now on the verge of signing Algerian forward Mohamed Amoura from Union St. Gilloise.
According to Kicker, Wolfsburg will pay a reported €17m plus bonuses for the Algeria international, who scored 23 goals in 48 games across all competitions for the Belgian side last season, including registering eight assists. Admired by Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz, VfL’s offer for Amoura has been on the table for some time but after missing out on Larsen, will now look to secure a move for Amoura, who was near the top of their shortlist.
A different profile to Jonas Wind, Kicker further reports that Wolfsburg don’t expect the Dane, who has a contract until 2026, to leave the club. Wind scored 11 and created seven in 34 Bundesliga games in what was a difficult campaign for Wolfsburg last season, while Amoura, who can play in attack or out wide, should complement the Denmark international.
