Wolfsburg ‘to wait’ on Tjark Ernst amid Celtic and Ajax interest | OneFootball

Wolfsburg are keen on Tjark Ernst and are waiting on the goalkeeper’s decision amid rival interest from Ajax and Celtic, Wolfsburger Allgemeine and Aller-Zeitung report.

With Kamil Grabara heading for the exit, the club have identified Hertha BSC goalkeeper Ernst as their preferred replacement.

The outlets add that Wolfsburg are largely in agreement with the player’s representatives, but Ernst has not yet given the green light. Other Bundesliga clubs are also in the frame.

While they await Ernst’s call, alternatives have been lined up. Stefan Ortega, described as available on a free transfer after leaving Nottingham Forest, is under consideration.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s back-up goalkeeper Michael Zetterer is also being looked at as a possible option. Wolfsburg will monitor Ernst’s stance while assessing those contingencies.
